Toronto police are looking for the attacker, a suspect in the act of vandalism committed at the Museum of Jewish heritage on the territory of the hospital «Backrest,» according to CP24.
According to the data obtained in the course of the investigation, the man entered the Museum at about 23:00. Once in the room, he ripped from the wall and two pictures, crumpled them, and threw on the floor. Then, taking from the table «book reviews», he left the offending entry.
Police have reviewed the footage taken by a surveillance camera of the Museum, and went to the Toronto residents with an appeal to help find the attacker.
In March this year, the police of Toronto reported an increase in the number of crimes committed on the grounds of hatred, over the last year. The report noted that the number of crimes motivated by religious hatred is 46% of the total – a record number for the last 10 years.
The most common types of crimes – damage to property of others, violence and the criminal actions of annoying character. The greatest number of acts of vandalism accounted for by the Jewish community.
