The administration of U.S. President Donald trump has imposed sanctions against eight banks, North and 26 North Korean Bank officials living abroad, reports AP.
Under the sanctions were officials representing the banks of the DPRK in Russia, China, Libya and the UAE.
We will remind that on 21 September, the President of the United States Donald trump announced that he had signed a decree authorising the Finance Ministry with additional powers to impose sanctions against the DPRK. This statement was made in the presence of the President of South Korea, moon Jae-In and the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. Donald trump noted that the development of DPRK’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles «this is a huge threat to peace and security.»
The US President explained that the new Executive order will allow you to cut off sources of income, through which North Korea receives funds for the development of «lethal weapons». The sanctions may relate to those who are engaged in trade with Pyongyang or supplies technology.
