The U.S. state Department report on trafficking in persons reported that in Russia there are camps where the citizens of the DPRK, sent to forced labor.
According to the report, tens of thousands of North Korean citizens forced to work abroad, most of them in Russia and China. The workers, according to the state Department, not get paid directly. The money is transferred to the authorities of the DPRK and the workers get from them only a small part.
Accordingly, Russia is at the lowest level in the ranking of the fight against slave labor and human trafficking.
Israel in this ranking is in the first group, which includes countries that accepts the most active participation in the fight against human trafficking. However, the document States that Israel should be more attentive to the victims of the slave trade among African migrants.
