The President of the United States Donald trump is disposed to extend for another year sanctions against Russia because of the situation in Ukraine, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the White house.
The press service said that because the situation around Ukraine «continues to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the USA», the presidential decree of 2014, according to which sanctions have been imposed against Russia, be extended for one year.
In a separate notification to Congress, said, «the Actions and policies of persons undermining democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine, threaten its peace, security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity and contribute to the misappropriation of its assets.»
According to trump, he came to the conclusion that sanctions «must remain in force after 6 March 2018».
The white house was informed of the relevant decision of the speaker of the house of representatives of U.S. Congress Paul Ryan.
