The Volkswagen group bought or renovated more than half of cars banned in the US after the oil companies.

In October 2016, the Federal court in San Francisco (California) approved a settlement agreement between the US authorities and the Volkswagen group.
In accordance with the agreement, within the settlement of oil companies, the automaker must pay 14.7 billion dollars.
