The press service of the party «Kulanu» reported that the long negotiations of the Knesset Tali Ploskova with representatives of the Ministry of Finance has brought results: beginning this year, all widows and widowers of prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps, who died before July 1, 2011, will receive a quarterly payment of NIS 2,500, regardless of the date of his repatriation. The payment will be credited retroactively and 2017.
A year ago, a law was passed on quarterly payment to widows and widowers of prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps a special allowance of 2500 shekels. Unfortunately, the law only applied to those who immigrated before 1953. During this time Tali Ploskova sought to expand the criteria, explaining that because of imperfections in the wording of a group of widows and widowers «dropped» from the scope of the law, and in most cases, we are talking about Russian-speaking immigrants who arrived in Large waves of aliyah.
«Every time we get more and more to improve the lives of older people, Holocaust survivors and members of their families, — commented the decision of the Ministry of Finance Tali Ploskova. — Unfortunately, the time we have very little, and do much more work still needs to age these people were worthy. Now, more than 1,700 people begin to receive benefits, which were denied only because of the date of repatriation. I am very glad that it turned out to get justice for them.»
