17 journalists and administrative staff one of the leading opposition Newspapers of Turkey appeared before the Istanbul criminal court. Staff Cumhurriyet accused of terrorism.
The defendants were arrested nearly nine months ago, in accordance with the emergency law imposed in Turkey after the failure of the coup, on 16 June 2016. They face up to 43 years in prison.
According to the investigation, all of them followers of the opposition of the theologian Fethullah Gulen, members of the so-called «terrorist organization Fethullah». Gulen living in the United States, authorities called the organizer of the coup.
