Turkey confirmed that relations with Israel are close to normalization

Turkish officials confirmed that Ankara and Jerusalem is close to signing an agreement on full normalization of bilateral relations. Negotiations on this subject in Switzerland.

Turkish official source told the newspaper Hurriyet that the agreement is not yet reached, but may be signed in the near future. Israel was represented at the negotiations the chief «Mossad» Yosef Cohen and special envoy Joseph Ciechanover and Turkey — Deputy foreign Minister Feridun sinirlioğlu.

The newspaper Daily Sabah, in turn, reported that Turkish authorities believe ties with Israel is still problematic, but the restoration of normal relations «on the horizon».

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkey conveyed that the two countries came to an understanding. However, in the message of the Turkish side is not specified what kind of compromise was reached.

Earlier, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan demanded, among other things, the lifting of the isolation of the Gaza strip in the framework of the conditions to normalize relations with Israel. But Israel categorically rejected this requirement.

Some time ago, Erdogan told reporters that the normalization of Turkey’s relations with Israel will benefit not only these countries, but also the Palestinians and the entire middle East region.

As reported yesterday, the agreement on normalization provides for the following: the return of the two States ambassadors, cancel any claims against officers and soldiers of the IDF, the Israeli compensation Fund for those affected in the clash on Board the Mavi Marmara in the amount of 20 million dollars, the willingness of Turkey to counter any terrorist activity on its territory, the ban on entry to Turkey Salah Aruri, a known Hamas activist who according to some reports, was the initiator of the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in gush Etwine in the summer of 2014, Turkey’s agreement to lay the pipeline through its territory and the immediate start of talks to sell Israeli gas to Turkey.
