Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz denied the reports, according to which on February 14 was launched by the input units of the Turkish army on Syrian territory.
«These messages are not true. Turkey does not intend to introduce troops into the territory of Syria,» — said the Minister, speaking at a parliamentary hearing.
February 14, the Syrian news Agency SANA reported that armed with 12 machine guns pickups have entered the country through the Turkish border. As argued by the Agency, the convoy carrying supplies to the opponents of Bashar al-Assad, was accompanied by 100 Turkish soldiers.
The Syrian representative to the UN filed a formal complaint in the Security Council in connection with the violation of the border. The document notes that the Syrian government has the right to resist Turkish aggression and to demand compensation for damages.
