Press Secretary of the Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin said at the briefing for journalists that the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza strip is a precondition for the normalization of relations with Israel.
Kalin also said that Ankara intends to use its role in the region to facilitate the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and the implementation of the principle of «Two States for two peoples».
We will remind that on December 18 the Turkish media reported that the parties are close to agreement on normalization of relations. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkey reported that in the course of passing in Switzerland, the negotiations, the two countries came to an understanding.
According to media reports, the agreement about the normalization includes the following steps: the return of the two States ambassadors, cancel any claims against officers and soldiers of the IDF, the Israeli compensation Fund for those affected in the clash on Board the Mavi Marmara in the amount of 20 million dollars, the willingness of Turkey to counter any terrorist activity on its territory, the ban on entry to Turkey Salah Aruri, a known Hamas activist who according to some reports, was the initiator of the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in gush Etwine in the summer of 2014, Turkey’s agreement to lay the pipeline through its territory and the immediate start of talks to sell Israeli gas to Turkey.
However, despite the statement of one of leaders of the ruling Party of progress and development, according to which Israel is a friend of Turkey, a dialogue has begun to slip. Turkey demanded unrestricted access to the Gaza strip, as a Turkish court has ordered to pay additional compensation to one of the wounded from the Mavi Marmara.
