Ukraine will suffer the penalty for what Russia’s representative Yulia Samoilova at the musical contest «Eurovision-2017» was not given the opportunity to participate.
About it reports on Thursday, June 29, a news portal RBC with reference to the representative of the organizer – the «European broadcasting Union» (EBU).
«The broadcaster of the host country is not able to adequately fulfil their obligations to cooperate with the EBU in connection with the participation of Russian artist», – said the European official, noting that the organization of the contest were made «significant delays, which created unnecessary difficulties».
According to the EBU, so the reputation of the brand «Eurovision» was in jeopardy, and the national public broadcasting company of Ukraine will pay a significant penalty in accordance with the rules of the contest. Sanctions will be applied to the National public television company of Ukraine (NAT).
As follows from the statement of the EBU, the remark will also receive the Russian «First channel», refused to broadcast the competition from-for absence on it of Yulia Samoilova.
The national public broadcasting company of Ukraine intends to appeal the decision of the EBU, said the head of the Board of the broadcaster Zurab Alasania.
