Severo-the Caucasian district military court on Monday, July 31, sentenced the citizen of Ukraine Alexey Sisonovich to 12 years of imprisonment on charges of preparing a terrorist attack in the Rostov region.
«The court found Sisonovich guilty and has appointed to it punishment in the form of 12 years of imprisonment in a penal colony and a fine in the amount of 250 thousand rubles «, – quotes the judge announced the sentence, «Interfax».
Sisonovich confirmed in court that recognizes his guilt and expressed remorse, the Agency said.
According to investigators, Alexey Sisonovich unknown man in 2014 was created in Kiev, organized group with the aim of committing terrorist acts in Russia and Ukraine. Sisonovich collected information about the objects of transport infrastructure, as well as made explosive devices. Previously he spent 11 years as a bomber on mine and had the appropriate skills.
According to the investigation, in may 2016 Sisonovich was instructed to go to the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinskaya (Rostov oblast) to inspect and photograph the local station, as well as to determine the place for explosive devices. The attack was planned to make in September of the same year.
Sisonovich was arrested in September 2016, with the attempt of illegal crossing Russian-Ukrainian border.
