US Ambassador to Israel: trump does not insist on a settlement freeze

The White house will not require Israel to freeze construction in the settlements. This was stated on Wednesday, may 17, in an interview with the newspaper «Israel a-Yom» U.S. Ambassador David Friedman, who is in Israel.

Friedman also reported that the President of the United States Donald trump is no clear plan or road map for the peace process.

«Trump made it clear he wants the parties met, without preconditions, and began a discussion, which we hope will lead to peace. The US is not going to impose their views on coexistence – they have to find a path to peace,» said Friedman.

On Tuesday, may 16, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in his office in Jerusalem with U.S. Ambassador David Friedman.

Benjamin Netanyahu, welcoming the new Ambassador, noted that he was aware that immediately after the arrival of David Friedman went to the Wailing Wall. We also want to work with You and with President trump in the name of strengthening our Union», — said the head of government.

Earlier in the day, David Friedman presented his credentials to President of Israel Reuven Rivlin. The ceremony took place in the presidential office.
