The truce in the South-West of Syria, brokered by the US, Russia and Jordan, lasted little more than a day. Supporters and opponents of the regime resumed armed clashes.
The Free Syrian army said that the artillery of the government troops attacked its positions to the North of Sweida. The authorities acknowledged that artillery involved, but said that the attack targeted the militants grouping «Islamic state».

The agreement on ceasefire in the South-West of Syria entered into force on 9 July at 12:00 local time. It applies to the province of Daraa, Quneitra, and Suwayda, including on the territory adjacent to the Israeli and Jordanian borders.
