Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani held a telephone conversation. On Monday, August 14, reported the press service of the Kremlin, noting that it was initiated by the Iranian side.
During the conversation, Putin congratulated Rouhani held from August 5 inauguration and wished him success as President of Iran.
«They discussed the progress of bilateral cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in oil and gas, power and transport sectors, as well as some issues of the international agenda», – quotes the message «Interfax».
«The exchange of views on topical aspects of the situation in Syria confirmed the interest in further coordination of joint efforts aimed at resolving the crisis,» – said the Kremlin press service.
As previously reported, Hassan Rouhani, elected in may on a post of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for a second term was confirmed to this position on August 3, Supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei.
