Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on state policy in the field of naval activities until 2030.
The document identifies the goals, objectives, priorities and mechanisms of realization the state policy of the Russian Federation in the field of naval activities for the period up to 2030, as well as the role and place of the Navy, forces and means of bodies of FSB of the Russian Federation in the military component of the sea potential of Russia, RIA Novosti reported.
As noted in the decree, the presence of a strong Navy will allow Russia to occupy a leading position in the world in the twenty-first century.
«Trends in the development of modern geopolitical situation in the world clearly show that only a strong Navy would provide the Russian Federation’s leading position in the multipolar world in the XXI century, will allow it to effectively implement and defend its national interests», – quotes the document TASS.
This decree shall enter into force from July 20, 2017, from the date of its signing.
