The ultra-Orthodox factions have submitted a draft of the draft Basic law that declares the Torah study in yeshivot «the basic value of the state», reported on Thursday February 1, portal Walla.
According to the correspondent of the portal Yaks Alamkara information, SHAS AND «yaadut Torah» are going to determine support for the draft state budget for 2019 with consent of the coalition to support this bill. In the ultra-Orthodox factions believe that such a law can neutralize the effect of the decision of the high Court to abolish the law on conscription of haredim.
Judges motivated the decision with that adopted by the present government, the law violates the principle of equality between ultra-Orthodox and the rest of the population. In SHAS and «yaadut Torah» is trying to prevent the adoption of a law that would entail a call for yeshiva students.
Recall that the coalition members intend to approve the draft state budget to end the current session of the Knesset, at the end of March.
