December 31, meteorological service of Israel reported that the past year was one of the hottest in the country’s history. It was the third consecutive year, when the average temperature in the summer months was above the «norm».
The hottest months of the outgoing year were August and September, when there were registered the highest temperatures since the founding of the weather service.
Recall that, summarizing the results of August, the weather service reported that August 16 was beaten several temperature records: in the youth village NIR Haemek in Afula the mercury rose to 41.5 degrees, 0.7 degree higher than the previous temperature record, and in Ein-Hres — of 37.6.
