According to published data, the average temperature in the daytime in mountains and in Central parts of the country had above average temperatures by 2-2. 5 degrees, 1.5-2 degrees on the coast of the Mediterranean sea. At night, the air temperature was higher by 1-2 degrees.
Meteorologists say that only in July it was only a few days when the temperature corresponded to the average for that month.
During July there were three waves of significant increase in temperature. During the first wave, which was observed from 1 to 4 July, in the Negev, the air is warmed during the day to 42 in the valleys in the North of Israel to 43, in the Jordan valley — to 46.
The second wave of hot air has covered Israel from 10 to 17 July, during this period, the Negev, the air is warmed up to 40, in the lowlands in the North of Israel to 41, in the Jordan valley, up to 45 degrees.
The third wave of hot air has covered Israel from 21 to 27 July, but the air temperature was slightly above average indicators.
