ESET company engaged in the development of anti-virus software, has warned users of WhatsApp phishing attack scams.
According to experts of the company, the user receives an email that informs about expiration of the trial period, subscription to the messenger, then offered to follow the link. Letters are sent on behalf of the administration WhatsApp, writes «Rossiyskaya Gazeta».
When you click on a link from an email takes the user to a fraudulent site, «disguised» under-owned WhatsApp service, where he is prompted to enter credit card information. This information will be sent to the scammers.
As noted in the ESET, last WhatsApp really charge subscribers a fee after a year of free use, however, have long abandoned this model.
