Who should increase allowances on rental housing. Clarifications of the Ministry of immigrant absorption

Who should increase allowances on rental housing

In the footsteps of the communication of the decision of the Commission with the participation of three ministries to the immigrants increase the amount of the allowance for paying rent, the Ministry of aliyah and immigrant absorption provides data on the categories of citizens who will be entitled to additional assistance.

In accordance with the agreement, which was signed on 3 February 2016, the Minister of aliyah and immigrant absorption ze’ev Elkin, Deputy Minister of construction Yoav GALANT and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, allowances for rental housing will increase the categories of beneficiaries-returnees who are on waiting lists for social housing and receive assistance for rental housing from the Ministry of aliyah and immigrant absorption.

It is about 1818 families (including families of single mothers). Currently, they receive assistance for paying rent in the amount of up to 1250 NIS per month, after the increase they will receive up to 2,250 NIS per month maximum, in accordance with the amount of rent for a rented apartment. Increased benefits for rental housing these families will receive is expected in March, and the surcharge will be automatically transferred to the account retroactively, starting from January 2016.

In addition to the above categories of families, increase benefits for rental housing will be given to the beneficiaries for whom approved the allocation of apartments, adapted for the disabled (the so-called «Dirac ner»). It is about 28 persons with disabilities, singles and the disabled with 109 families – a total of 137 families. Currently disabled individuals, pending receipt «dirt ner» will receive assistance for paying rent in the amount of up to 2500 shekels a month. After increasing the maximum size of this assistance will be up to 3500 NIS per month. A disabled family, which approved the allocation of adapted apartments, currently receives assistance for paying rent in the amount of up to 3000 NIS per month. After increasing the amount of this benefit will be up to NIS 4,000 a month, maximum, in accordance with the provided criteria (the amount of rent, percentage of disability, etc.). It is important to note that according to the criteria of the Ministry of construction, «dirt ner» eligible individuals in wheelchairs who are not pensioners – children and adults.

Since February, the recent adjustment of allowances for rental housing for new immigrants, starting from the second to the end of the fourth year of stay in the country. Allowances will be transferred automatically. In addition, the first immigrants of the first year of stay in the country will receive assistance for rental housing and after the end of the 7th month, i.e. allowance for rent will be expected and from the 8th to 12th month stay in the country.

As for the older immigrants, now the Ministry of construction contributes funds for rental housing family 49301 cell: both singles and couples. Of these 49301 of benefit recipients to rent housing separate from close relatives live 6870 pairs of pensioners and pensioner 16094 single, that is all – 22964 family unit. In accordance with the agreement, to increase allowances for rental housing to elderly immigrants who live alone, will be allocated NIS 36 million. Their benefits will be adjusted for the first time. They will receive additional payment retroactive from January.
