The company «Yandex» has rejected accusations of the security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to transfer personal data of Ukrainians to Russian security services.
«No employees «Yandex.Of Ukraine» nor the leadership of the Ukrainian division did not have access to personal data of users of «Yandex». Protection of personal data of our users in all countries where we provide services is a top priority. In particular, to ensure that user data is impersonal and anonymous, – told TASS on Monday evening, may 29, the press service of the company. – No data transfer, which accused the «Yandex» was not».
At the present time «Yandex» has conducted consultations with lawyers and will take the necessary action to protect their employees, noted in a press-service.
Earlier in the day it was reported that SBU officers came with a search warrant in the offices of Yandex in Kiev and Odessa.
According to the SBU, it was found that «the management of the company illegally collected, stored and passed on to Russia personal data of Ukrainian citizens». We are talking about personal data, occupation, lifestyle, work, source and amount of income, as well as telephone numbers, email addresses and social media accounts.
According to the SBU, the data collected about law enforcement and special bodies of the Ukrainian soldiers, employees of state authorities and management. SBU believes that information passed to the intelligence services of Russia.
