On Tuesday, January 9, the head of MERETZ zaava galon filed an appeal in the high court against the law on the work shops on Shabbat.
This law was passed by the Knesset in the early morning, and an hour later, after the approval of the head of the MERETZ filed a lawsuit in the Supreme court of Israel.
Approval galon, the law is unconstitutional. «It deals a disproportionate blow to the fundamental rights of citizens to freedom, freedom of religion and freedom from religion. This law gives authority to the Minister, leading a religious way of life, to impose it across the whole country», — stated in the appeal.
Galon went to court with a request to publish the decision of prohibiting the entry of the law into force until, until a final decision on the appeal.
