The controversial leader of the liberal democratic party Vladimir Zhirinovsky sued first and only President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev of 6,300 rubles, filing a lawsuit on protection of honor, dignity and business reputation, reports the website of TV channel «Rain» .
Timiryazevsky court decided that Gorbachev should pay 300 rubles for legal costs to the Zhirinovsky and 6 thousand rubles, the LDPR. While initially, Zhirinovsky has filed a lawsuit for 1 million rubles, and also demanded to refute the allegations about him and his party in Gorbachev’s book «After the Kremlin».
The court rejected Zhirinovsky in compensation for moral damages, however, Gorbachev was obliged to publish in any publication not less than 400 messages a denial of information about that ancient attack on Gorbachev in Omsk involved in the liberal democratic party, as he writes in his book.
The court also refused to satisfy the demands of Zhirinovsky and the liberal democratic party not to recognize the relevant information that the leader of the party allowed themselves to extremist statements.
